THE ARTIST STUCK IN LIMBO
Ashton Scott Garcia or better known as “SCOT LIMBO” is a young talent from southern California. SCOT LIMBO is a record producer, songwriter, lyricist, and rapper. Born and raised in Corona, California; LIMBO has released a catalog of music full of introspective thoughts, feelings, and questions. In which he uses to further showcase his ever expanding catharsis and knowledge within his view of life, along with Christ as his lord. LIMBO implements sounds such as rock, jazz, hip-hop and electronic instrumentation within his ever evolving sound of music. At first glance LIMBO seems to be your ordinary underground rapper, but what most don’t seem to notice is the depth in which his lyrics take when the listener is present. He takes you on a journey of self discovery, self reflection, and self doubt. To which all are essential elements to evolution and the heart of SCOT LIMBO. His music contains traces of romantic poetry known as Romanticism, along with a contemporary rap style in which he uses to create a world that is real and true to his life and reality. With the release of his sophomore album when the conversation's over on August 11th 2025. We learn more about the up and coming MC.
Where did SCOT LIMBO start? At the young age of 8 his father downloaded Fruity Loops onto his tablet. Young LIMBO then began to chop and arrange his own vocal samples. At the time he did not know this would turn into a long time passion. He then started a group with his little brother in which they called the “Double AA's”. As the years progressed he officially wrote and recorded his first two singles called “To the Top” & “Nature Rap”. After this he would release a series of mixtapes and albums under different alias such as A.G, Offbeat, Soul Purpose & UNKNXWN ENTIDAD until finally coming to terms with SCOT LIMBO.
The artist produces emotions of all kinds. These can easily be interpreted within his sound. Originating from old school rap LIMBO uses this essence along with the style of lo-fi and rock to shape his sound within music. He is an artist that tackles the mental and emotion struggles that us as people go through each and everyday. He tackles the fears of failing those around him, his lord and savior Jesus Christ, depression, & imposter syndrome. As an artist all of his music is about catharsis. Introspecting is what the artist is best at when creating.
INTROSPECTION 2023, MAY 17TH (FIRST LP ALBUM)
His 2023 LP INTROSPECTION is an example of how self reflection can heal. NIGHT is the first song off the album this song was once a voice memo the artist recorded during a night of a heart stricken pain, battle and struggle with one's own mental health. Although the album starts off eerie and full of gloom, this was all shifted with the wake of an alarm. The second track on the LP is REFLECTION. This song tackles the reflection of ones self as he talks about insecurities and the struggle with the internal demons we face from the start and to the end of ones day. Reflection is a process us humans go through when wanting change and improvement within ones life which then leads us to the next chapter. The third song off the album is REMEMBERING. Through the healing process of introspection we enter a new phase of remembering the darkness that once consumed us. REMEMBERING show cases the darkness one can go through when in a depressive state to the point of thinking of harming one's self. A huge aspect to introspecting is the use of feeling. The fourth song on the record is FEELING. This song shows the full vulnerability the artist was going through during his darkest moments of feeling lost and hopeless with faith. To add on the artist talks of drowning in the emotions and feelings he is dealing. He has no clear go to that will help him with these feelings he's battling. Going to the half way point of the record with track five. SERENITY is a record about finding mental peace. Throughout all the struggles and hardships of life the artist is at a turning point to achieve mental peace, serenity and happiness. Finding that joy within hardships and in his own life was key to this introspective process. This then leads us to the sixth track of the album THE BEST THINGS HAPPEN BY ACCIDENT (interlude). After the interlude we begin a new chapter which looks and sounds more positive from when we first began. LOVE was a song created for LIMBO'S partner to show case his love and gratitude towards her. With the help from a fellow friend and collaborator Twojay. The artist show case their emotions for love and how they feel for a woman. After this we get into the first single of SCOT LIMBO'S career. The seventh song on the record INTROSPECTIVE is supposed to be a more radio friendly song that makes you want to bob your head. The last track of the album is BEFORE I GO I WANT TO SAY…. The ninth and final song of his Debut LP show cases a story of wanting to be better and become the best version of himself he can be. LIMBO explains how he wants to be the man for his future kin and not fall victim to defeat with the pressure of society and how the youth are distracted and stuck within their smart phones.

when the conversation's over 2025, august 11th (sophomore LP)
when the conversation's over is the long awaited second LP by the young rapper, producer, story teller and songwriter. since his debut LP SCOT LIMBO worked vigorously on his second LP. with early stages of the album beginning in late 2023 of June the artist first song i need to breathe was created in its demo version. This was what is known as the start to when the conversation's over. while in college the artist did not spend music time working on the album at school but utilized the skills of production, music theory and life to create this record. he began the idea of this record originally to be a double LP with two sides to the record. now this was ultimately and unfinished thought. only three songs from this original draft actually made the current version of the album. the earlier stages of the album was written in a sonnet formatting. the records original intention was meant to be a large poem. although in late 2023 when his grandmother died that change the direction of the album. the craft became something of a more personal craft. what did it mean when the conversation's over? to understand this was the goal. that when LIMBO realize after the release of the record that it meant to speak your story. your voice is the start of the conversation. although his conversation was meant to showcase the imperfections he has and his flaws with following his faith fully. as the record was finally ready to be released as a two part twelve track second LP on November 17th, 2024 the artist delayed the release. he scrapped 90% of the album and spent the next 8 months recording, mixing, mastering and re-writing the entire record. te record we have now this the embodiment of focusing on growth, letting trauma pass and allowing oneself to embrace the struggle with faith openly and be fully vulnerable. after releasing on the artist 20th birthday he was welcomed with much praise and support. what took almost 3 years to create was finally finished.
